One of our favorite minerals is Labradorite! We love it for its magical flash and its ability to awaken our inner awareness and illuminate our intuition. It's also one of the most requested crystals in our shop! Each piece is absolutely beautiful and unique, featuring a stunning array of colors and vibrant chatoyancy!
According to Inuit legend, an Inuit warrior discovered a cave filled with Labradorite, along the coast of Labrador, Canada. He believed the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights to be trapped in the rocks and freed some of the light by striking the stones with his spear. The remaining light in the stones give us the brilliance and iridescent flash we now know as Labradorite. Radiating hues of blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple the crystal is reminiscent of the beauty and wonder of the Northern Lights.
Labradorite is the best crystal for transformation, especially those desiring to enhance their intuitive abilities. It strengthens your resolve and pushes perseverance during times of change and uncertainty. Explore your past lives, clairvoyance, and deep communication with your spirit guides with this crystal at your side. Those who are beginning an energy healing modality, herbalists, life coaches, sound healing practitioners, or anyone seeking a heightened experience with the spiritual realm can use Labradorite in their daily practice.
Using Labradorite during meditation can activate your Third Eye Chakra. When our Third Eye is open and balanced, we move through our lives using our natural intuition, display clarity of mind, and increased self-awareness. Your self-confidence is boosted and your authentic self shines!
Consider including a piece of this mystical crystal in your collection. Whether you love it for its natural beauty or the magical qualities it holds, you will benefit from its dynamic nature and harmony it brings into your life!

The cosmic alignment of Earth, Sirius, and the Orion constellations opens a spiritual gateway and opportunity for further ascension and potent manifestation. The portal may be open for several days but it's at its peak on August 8th (8/8). The number 8 represents infinity and the endless possibilities for abundance the Universe can offer. Angel Numbers (repetitive numbers that vibrate in the form of messages from the Angelic Realm) 8 and 88 signify a spiritual journey or lesson that you're ready to receive and a portal opening for an opportunity for a deeper spiritual practice. 2024 is also the year 8 in numerology making this particular Lion's Gate portal even more potent!
Working with crystals during a heightened state of cosmic energy can amplify your state of consciousness. Crystals you can work with in meditation and use in setting intentions for the portal are Lemurian, Golden Healer, Labradorite, Amethyst, Terahertz, and Gold Sheen Obsidian. Building and activating a crystal grid on this date is a powerful way to manifest and utilize the cosmic energy. Clear your mind so your intentions are pure and concise. Set intentions for healing, increasing your intuition, releasing karmic debt and the potential for connecting with higher dimensional beings.
This is also an important time for healing. You need to make space for hope, positivity and Love to enter by removing low lying energies such as fear and doubt. Releasing trauma, including ancestral, is a process that cannot be bypassed in order to move forward on your spiritual journey. As humans we tend to bury those emotions and sometimes the suppression becomes an instinctual survival mechanism instead of processing the emotions through honing a set of health coping skills. Everyone is different and so what may work for one person might not work for another. Lean into the shift and discover your true potential!

Sweet Orange (Citrus sinesis) is one of our favorite oils for blending or using on its own. Its familiar aroma blends beautifully with many different oils but especially with other citrus oils and warm, spicy scents. It's usually cold-pressed from the rind of the orange fruit.
Therapeutic and Energetic Properties
Sweet Orange is a natural astringent, and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is high in d-limonene which is supportive to your immune system. It can be incorporated with other oils such as Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, or Grapefruit when recovering from an illness. Sweet Orange's bright aroma unblocks stagnant energy and soothes nerves. It can also be incorporated in blends for its ability to strengthen and uplift those who are experiencing lingering depressive feelings.
How to Incorporate Sweet Orange into Your Daily Routine
Sweet Orange essential oil is a must have in our our aromatherapy toolkit! It can be used to support the immune system, dispel heavy emotional feelings, or used alone for its refreshing and uplifting scent. We love the notes it adds to our Summer Oil Blend and Synergy Oil Blend.

Do you have a Leo in your life? Leo, the fifth sign of the zodiac, falls between July 23 and August 22. It is represented by a lion and ruled by the Sun. Known for their bold and fiery personalities, Leos are natural leaders who exude confidence and charisma. They are also known for their strong sense of self-expression and creativity. They are passionate, love to be in the spotlight, and are risk-takers. Leos are also fiercely loyal and protective of their loved ones. Their natural ability to thrive in social settings make them the life of the party. They tend to be extroverts and sometimes that comes across as self-centered or attention seeking but they are generous (sometimes to a fault!), warm-hearted, and always lending a hand to those in need.
Sometimes Leos can be stubborn and inflexible, unwilling to see things from another perspective. Their fiery temper can flare up quickly, leading to conflicts with others. It's important for Leos to work on their communication skills and learn to be more open-minded.
Crystals that resonate with Leo's energy are Peridot, Rose Quartz, Citrine, and Diamond Quartz. Leos can work with the vibration of these crystals to enhance positivity and encourage the softening and opening of their Heart Chakra.
Leos can harness their strengths by embracing their creativity and passion. It is important for Leos to remember to balance their need for attention with humility and empathy towards others. They are dynamic and charismatic individuals who bring warmth and energy wherever they go!

Recently, we sat down with Kate of Mamata Kate to talk more about her personal experience with Mindfulness, and how we can benefit from it! Kate has a background in nursing, is a certified mindfulness instructor, and uses her mindfulness practices as well as spiritual guidance and intuition to coach her clients to finding a more peaceful way to move through life.
Tell us a little bit about your background and what sparked your interest in Mindfulness.
I was introduced to Mindfulness when my oldest child began school at Downtown Montessori Academy. He was taught breathing techniques and tools to become more aware of himself and regulate his emotions. I was grateful for these supportive techniques and experienced first hand the benefit of having a mindful child. My background is in nursing and I built on that foundation with accreditations in Fully Accredited Mindfulness for Teenagers and Schools, Mindfulness for Children, Mindfulness for Children diploma, and a Certification for Mindfulness through UWM. I decided to focus on youth because I recognized the positive outcomes in my own children. They have greatly benefited from from being taught self-awareness and have a better understanding of who they are, why they do things (positive or negative), and have a good grasp on self-love.
How would you describe Mindfulness to someone who is unfamiliar with this practice?
Mindfulness is a practice or a mindset of awareness of tuning into self in the present: creating an awareness of what is happening in not only your physical body but also your thoughts, energy, and actions. Having awareness or being mindful of thoughts allows us more freedom to willingly give energy to thoughts instead of unconsciously giving energy to thoughts that may not be in our best interest. Being mindful of your physical placement in the world allows for more observation of your surroundings which in turn will provide you with more information than if you weren't in a state of mindfulness. In both cases, being mindful allows you to make better choices for your mental, emotional, and physical well-being in the present. You are more accepting of outcomes because the journey to get there was less turmoil and more in flow. You tend to experience things more fully because of awareness. You are able to drop preconceptions when you are mindful because when you are immersed in the present moment, the past does not exist. You will also find that you are less judgmental. In a mindful state, or "an observers state", we are observing, taking in information, and not giving it out so the judgment has no place here in the present.
What is a typical experience in one of your classes for children?
Each class focuses on one of the attitudes of mindfulness and we work on a corresponding activity to hold the children's interest. I introduce a breathing technique with a physical prompt for the children to more easily remember. We also participate in a guided meditation. Meditation can be difficult for even the most focused adults so offering a visual experience in their mind's eye can assist in the concentration of meditation. Typically, we'll have time for discussion and I spend a lot of time validating the experience they are having and pointing out when and where they are practicing mindfulness - bringing them into awareness of their awareness!
What are the short term and long term benefits for children?
Instilling these skills into children allows them to understand, accept, and offers a self-awareness and peace of mind. Being mindful will provide children with skills to have more meaningful relationships with people they love, increase self confidence, communicate more effectively and intentionally with others, and to deal with contrast and challenges in a healthy and productive way. In the educational setting, a mindful mindset will pull the child from distractions instead of distractions pulling at the child. A mindful child is able to retain more information and keep focused on tasks for longer periods of time.
What are your favorite tips for parents who are interested in encouraging Mindfulness into their households?
The best advice I could give to encourage that awareness muscle to grow, is to breathe. Breathwork is essential to most practices because it is the most effective regulation tool we have at our fingertips. I introduce at least one breathing technique in each class and parents are always welcome to join in the class. Keeping it quick and easy and something they can easily manage, works best. My other piece of advice is to set aside time to talk. Offering them time, a safe space, and validating their feelings, will build a healthy relationship. Often times children have grievances throughout the day that they ignore, feel they are not justified, or choose to go unheard. When we offer them time, children will respond in such a way that allows their minds freedom from those thoughts and gives them (and you) those opportunities to be present and mindful.
How has Mindfulness continued to impact your life?
I have been practicing mindfulness for almost 20 years and I still have to set the intention to be mindful everyday. It is very intentional for me and my practice does get more effective as time goes on. It is a muscle that requires a regular work out to be beneficial on a daily basis. I love that I have the skills to pull myself out of less than ideal situations. I use mindfulness daily in that aspect. It is an excellent tool for those who “live in their heads” and an incredible tool for grounding yourself.
My family and I practice being mindful in every conversation and interaction we have together. It is incredible to watch my teenage daughter manage complex situations with more maturity than most thirty year olds but it is because she is mindful of all of it. She sees the situation for what it is because she's learned to be in awareness of the present. The present moment is all that is when you drop all that was or all that is to be… And a wise old man said that joy and happiness can only exist in the present moment. And I choose that.

If you're experiencing feelings of hopelessness, nervousness, fear, anger, or insecurity, grounding or earthing may help balance and center your emotions. Intentionally moving your energetic field into a state of stability and strength can improve sleep quality, increase feelings of happiness, contentment, and optimism, and reduce stress. Grounding can also decrease cortisol levels which can positively affect your overall physical and emotional health. Here are some of our favorite ways to ground and center.
Meditation and Breathwork
Meditating even a short time each day (15 minutes or less) can cultivate an inner peace and a sense of awareness. Our favorite tool for guided meditations is the Insight Timer app. It's free, easy to use, and has a diverse variety of options. Breathwork is consciously altering your breathing pattern in a state of meditation to produce a positive physical, emotional, and energetic state.
Spending Time in Nature
The closest way to commune with Mother Earth and her natural rhythms is to spend time outside immersed in forests, trees, parks, or prairies. Activities such as hiking, swimming, gardening, and connecting to the ground in bare feet, can help you sync up with the Earth's heartbeat. Perform these activities with intentions for grounding and releasing of unwanted energy and give gratitude to Mother Earth for her unwavering support!
Essential Oils
We love to incorporate essential oils into our daily lives for grounding and centering. You can diffuse them in your space or apply them to pulse points or to the bottom of your feet. The most effective grounding oils are those derived from roots, rhizome or trees. For example Vetiver, Spikenard, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, and our own blend, Rooted.
Work with Crystals
Crystals can support and align you through the day. Our favorite grounding crystals are Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Tiger Eye, Smoky Quartz, and Jasper. They will help to keep you protected and secure. Carry them in your pockets, wear as jewelry, or place in strategic spots in your space to balance and center their energy. Because of their protective nature, they will need to be cleansed often by smudging, Selenite, or sound vibrational instruments.
Root Chakra
Sometimes we're not grounded because our Root Chakra is out of balance. When it is out of alignment, too open or blocked, you may feel unmotivated, anxious, fearful, angry, insecure, stuck, or exhausted. When the energy isn't flowing properly, you'll likely feel disconnected from the earth or emotions of stubbornness and greed may creep in. Feelings of insecurity and shame often stem from childhood or ancestral trauma and these manifest in blockages at the Root Chakra. There are tools to remove these blockages. See our blog post on the Root Chakra for more information.
Sound Healing
Sound vibrational instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls and drums can help move blockages and unwanted energy. To amplify the experience, try placing your feet in a large singing bowl while it's being played. You can also use these instruments in your daily meditation practice.
Reiki and Biomat
Reiki energy healing sessions improve the flow of energy through our chakras and can improve our over health. As stagnant energy is released and a health flow of energy returns to your body, you become grounded and centered. The biomat uses a combination of infra-red rays and Amethyst to soothe all body systems and leave you feeling refreshed and at peace.
Learning how to ground can be the key to finding balance and peace in your life. It can restore your energy levels, improve your focus and clarity of thought, and reduce inflammation. You may find yourself feeling more connected to the world around you, more in tune with your body's natural rhythms, and more at peace with the challenges life may bring!

What is the Throat Chakra?
The Throat Chakra also known as Vishuddha in Sanskrit, plays a crucial role in our ability to communicate effectively, express ourselves authentically, and our ability to truly listen. The Throat Chakra is the fifth chakra in the body's energy system, located at the base of the throat which governs our communication, self-expression, and ability to speak our truth. It resonates with the color blue, the Ether or space element, it's associated with the G note, and the mantra Ham. The symbol is a descending triangle in the middle of a circle surrounded by sixteen petals of the lotus flower. When the Throat Chakra is balanced, we can articulate our thoughts clearly, listen attentively, and express ourselves with confidence.
How to Balance Your Throat Chakra
An imbalance in the Throat Chakra can manifest in various ways, such as difficulty expressing yourself, fear of speaking up, or feeling misunderstood. This can be caused by past trauma, societal influences and restrictions, past lives, or current living situations. Physical symptoms may include throat issues, neck pain, or thyroid problems. Or you may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, frustration, loss of control, stagnant, or feelings of depression.
There are several techniques to balance the Throat Chakra. Try incorporating Breathwork meditations and Reiki sessions into your self-care routine. Crystals we suggest to work with are Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite, Aquamarine, and Blue Kyanite. Blue crystals work best! Something as simple as using your vocal cords such as chanting or singing can help remove blockages. Speaking up for yourself or others who are vulnerable can stimulate and restore energy to the Throat Chakra. Yoga poses such as Cat/Cow, Lion's Pose, Cobra, or Fish Pose circulate energy to the Throat Chakra. Lavender and Frankincense essential oils have a calming effect on the body and in turn can encourage personal expression. Use in a diffuser blend in your work space or wear on pulse points when in need of support. Working with Archangel Gabriel, the angel of communication and transformation, can help remove blockages and restore integrity to your Throat Chakra.
Speak Your Truth
When the Throat Chakra is balanced, we experience improved communication skills, enhanced self-expression, and a greater sense of authenticity. We can speak our truth confidently, set boundaries, and connect with others on a deeper level. A balanced Throat Chakra empowers us to express ourselves with clarity and integrity.
Understanding and nurturing the Throat Chakra is essential for fostering healthy communication and self-expression. By incorporating practices that support the Throat Chakra into our daily routine, we can cultivate a greater sense of authenticity and connection in our interactions with others.

Element: Ether or space

Kundalini energy is a powerful force that is often described as a dormant energy that lies coiled at the base of the spine, waiting to be awakened. It's been depicted as a coiled serpent at the base of the spine. It's also associated with the Divine Feminine, which is present in every body. When awakened, this energy is said to rise through the chakras, leading to spiritual enlightenment and a profound sense of awareness.
How Can Kundalini Energy be Awakened?
There are various practices and techniques that are believed to awaken Kundalini energy, such as basic yoga poses for beginners, meditation, breathwork, and energy healing sessions. These practices aim to purify the energy channels in the body, allowing the Kundalini energy to rise and activate the higher chakras. Activating Kundalini can be experienced as the following.
Kundalini energy is powerful and the awakening process should be done with an amount of caution. Be sure your physical body is supported and do not attempt awakening during a short term illness or a chronic condition that is not controlled or currently in treatment. Practicing a regular self-care routine and having access to wellness tools can help mitigate any challenges. Regular exercise, refraining from alcohol and other substances, fueling your body with nourishing organic unprocessed foods and staying well-hydrated are ways to keep your physical body supported during the process.
Working with crystals can open and stimulate Kundalini energy. We suggest Kundalini Citrine, Shiva Lingam, Serpentine, and Ruby Spinel. Garnet can be used to help control the energy. Certain crystal shapes can also tap into Kundalini energy such as mushrooms, flames, and shiva lingams.
Support your body, mind, and spirit with essential oils such as Lavender, Frankincense, Geranium, Peppermint, and Rosemary. Our Divine Feminine roller blend can also encourage and support you during the process.
Benefits of Kundalini Awakening
Those who have experienced a Kundalini awakening often report a heightened sense of awareness, spiritual growth, and a deeper connection to the Universe and Source. It is said to bring about a profound transformation in one's life, leading to a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment. The awakening of Kundalini energy is believed to unlock a person's full potential and lead to a state of bliss and enlightenment.
While the concept of Kundalini energy may seem esoteric to some, it has a long history in various spiritual traditions and is still practiced by many today. Exploring Kundalini energy can be a transformative journey towards greater self-awareness and well-being!
