Yerba Santa Stick

Yerba Santa, meaning “Holy Herb” in Spanish, has long been used in traditional spiritual and cleansing practices for its uplifting and heart-centered energy. Known for its naturally sweet, earthy aroma, Yerba Santa is often burned to support emotional healing, protection, and the release of heavy or stagnant energy.

This sacred herb is commonly associated with strengthening the heart, encouraging self-love, and creating space for clarity and renewal. Many people use Yerba Santa during meditation, intention setting, energy cleansing, or moments of reflection to invite a sense of peace and emotional balance.

Each Yerba Santa stick is naturally bundled and can be used to cleanse your space, spiritual tools, or personal energy. Simply light the tip, allow it to smolder, and gently guide the smoke throughout your space with intention.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preparation: Open a window in each room your are smudging to allow the negative energy and smoke to escape. Take some deep breaths and start to form positive thoughts, prayers or intentions that you will say while smudging the room. These can be said out loud or silently. For example: "I cleanse this room and release any negative or lower lying energy that is no longer serving myself or my family. I ask that the only light and love be allowed to enter this home."

Lighting the Stick: Light the tip of your torch; If it does not light easily pull apart and fan out the tip of the herbs a little. Once its lit, blow out the flame after a few seconds and allow it to smolder. You do not want flame, just a light smoke coming from it.

Smudging a Person: You can smudge yourself or another person by waving the smoldering stick from side to side, feet to head and from front to back of the body. It's suggested that before smudging a room you smudge yourself first. You can also use the selenite stick to cleanse yourself as well.

Smudging A Room: To cleanse or purify a room move clockwise around the edge while waving the stick up and down near the walls and up into the corners of the room thinking or saying your positive thoughts and intentions.

Extinguishing and Storing: Once your ceremony is completed extinguish your torch by rubbing it in the earth or placing the tip of it in some sand. (Sand is best as its cleaner and allows you to use the torch again more easily.) It is important to store your torch in a warm dry place to ensure that it burns easily. The same torch can be used over and over until it burns down.

How Often To Smudge: Smudge your home whenever you feel the need. Some do it every 4-6 weeks or anytime they feel negativity has entered the home.
