Life is an ever-evolving experience of shifting emotions, thoughts, and energy. There are moments and opportunities when we feel empowered, inspired, and connected, and others when fear, doubt, anxiety, or frustration take over. Our energy is always in motion and with intention and spiritual tools, we can guide ourselves toward greater balance and well-being. By working with these tools intentionally, we can create space for new perspectives, healthier habits, and more aligned energy.
We all experience moments when our energy feels scattered, emotions run high, or we find ourselves reacting rather than responding. Stress, frustration, overstimulation, uncertainty, and difficult interactions can pull us away from our center. While we cannot always control what happens around us, we can cultivate practices that help us pause, reconnect with ourselves, and consciously shift the energy we are carrying.
When something triggers an emotion and we haven't had time to process what is happening, we may respond with thoughts, words, and actions that are more reactive than intentional. Beginning with awareness itself can change the experience because it allows you the opportunity to choose what comes next. Instead of asking yourself "Why am I reacting this way?" try asking, "What do I need right now to return to myself?" This simple shift moves the focus away from judgment and toward self-awareness.

"I can honor my emotions without allowing them to control me."
As with any meaningful transformation, small, intentional practices can help support this shift. These are some of our favorite tools for moving from reactivity to balanced and centered.
Crystals
Working with crystals intentionally can support your intentions through grounding and releasing energy, shifting your mindset, and provide clarity. Our favorites to work with to reinforce feelings of centeredness and reflection are Petrified Wood, Tourmaline in Quartz, Gold Sheen Obsidian, Blue Calcite, Blue Kyanite, and Thousand Eye (Shell) Jasper.
Calling Back Energy
When our energy is scattered, we pull our attention into unresolved emotions, replaying past experiences, or focusing on situations beyond our control. When we remain invested in this energy, we may feel depleted, ungrounded, and more vulnerable to negative thought patterns. Consciously calling our energy back can help restore a sense of wholeness, calm the nervous system, and bring us back to the present moment.
Try this simple practice prior to sleep, after a stressful event, or a challenging conversation. Lying in bed or in a comfortable position with your eyes closed, set the intention to call back your energy using a simple statement such as, "I call back all of my energy..." You can add "from" and list people and places your energy was invested during the day such as work, stores, school, large gatherings, television, electronics, social media, and AI. You can visualize your energy returning to your energy field as a golden light infusing your Solar Plexus Chakra.

Energetic Cords
Energetic cords are subtle energetic connections that can form between people, places, and experiences. A cord does not necessarily mean a relationship is unhealthy or that the other person is intentionally taking your energy. Sometimes a cord simply represents an attachment that is emotionally charged or a connection that you're ready to experience differently. If you find yourself ruminating over someone or an experience, feel emotionally activated or drained by a particular person or situation, or feel yourself carrying someone else's emotions you may be holding onto energetic cords that are pulling you off center. Releasing energetic cords is not to erase or deny the experience or person, but to consciously move forward with greater clarity, sovereignty, and peace.
Releasing cords is a symbolic practice to reclaiming your energy. There are different ways to approach releasing cords. In a space of stillness, call on your spirit team to assist you in dissolving the cord. Visualize the cord between you and the other person/situation. Offer the cord gratitude for its lessons and ask for it to release. "I release this cord with compassion and gratitude. I call my energy back home and return what is not mine to carry." You can imagine it being dissolved with fire or cut with a pair of scissors or sword. In Kyle Gray's Raise Your Vibration: High-Vibe Tools to Support Your Spiritual Awakening, he offers a simple prayer to releasing cords with the assistance of Archangel Michael. "Thank you, Universal Source, Archangel Michael, and angels of protection, for cutting the cords that bind me to people, places, energy, situations, institutions, and any other stuff I no longer need. It feels so good to know you are here. I am safe and free!" You may want to finish this practice with a salt bath or smudging your auric field. For a deeper dive in releasing cords, consider an energy healing session such as Reiki.
Sound
Using sound vibrational instruments can move energy and promote relaxation, mindfulness, and inner awareness. Singing bowls, drums, gongs, rattles, and chimes are examples of sound instruments that can bring you back to the present moment. If you're playing the instrument yourself or attending a sound bath, use that time to set an intention to release a cord or energy that is no longer in alignment.
The process of writing down your feelings and emotions on paper can provide clarity and transform an unconscious reaction into a conscious reflection. Set aside perfectionism or the need to make sense of everything, and begin with whatever is present. A few prompts to help you track into the energy: "What am I feeling?", "What triggered me?", "What story am I telling myself about this situation?", "What do I need right now?" Once you've placed those thoughts on the page, shift the perspective. "How would I like to respond?", "What am I ready to release?", "How can I carry this forward?" You may feel called to release the paper and thoughts in a fire or Full Moon releasing ceremony.
Energetic Reset
A daily practice of resetting your energy in the morning and before bedtime is a simple tool to help you become more intentional about what energy you carry with you. There are many different ways to work with your energy, and there is no single practice that is right for everyone. Explore different tools and rituals and choose the ones that resonate with you and make you feel supportive in the moment. The goal is not to create another routine you have to follow, but to develop a personal practice that helps you consciously begin and end each day feeling grounded, clear, and connected to yourself. You can use meditation, breathwork, crystals, sound, a simple prayer, blessing, or song, or visualization.
Shifting Your Energy: Reactivity to Balanced & Centered
You don't have to incorporate every tool at once. Trust your intuition and begin with the practice that speaks to you most. Small, consistent shifts often create the most meaningful transformation. As you continue to choose balance and self over reactivity and reconnect with your inner compass, you'll discover that the strength, resilience, and guidance you've been seeking have been within you all along.
